The present research is located in the field of educational policy and aimed to evaluate the teacher formation program Escola da Terra/PE in its implementation phase. Therefore, it was necessary to analyze legal documents that regulate the program; accompany the formative moment characterized as university time and; to make use of discourse as an analytical category. The study operates with post-structuralism and is composed of three moments in which (1) from a theoretical discussion we make considerations about the evaluation of public policies; (2) we designed the methodology used in the research; (3) we analyzed the data produced. We conclude by pointing out in the program traditional problems in the field of public polices and subjective reaches that assing meanings in the constitution of identifications between rural educators and the teaching practice in peasant territories.
