Abstract

ARAUJO, Carlos Wagner Costa; BARCELOS, Renata Gerhardt; CELIA, Luciana dos Santos  and  MOLL, Jaqueline. Aspects of integral education in Brazil: conceptual, ideological and political disputes. Rev. Educ. Polít. Debate [online]. 2023, vol.12, n.1, pp.421-440.  Epub Jan 02, 2023. ISSN 2238-8346.  https://doi.org/10.14393/repod-v12n1a2023-66468.

Integral education is the object of study by several educators, research groups and those interested in the subject, but there are conceptual contradictions and dystopias. This essay aims to analyze and dialogue with theoretical references of integral education, based on the production and experiences of: Anísio Teixeira, Maria Nilde Mascellani, Paulo Freire, Darcy Ribeiro and Jaqueline Moll. This is a qualitative and documentary research. It was used for analysis: texts, articles and official documents of Brazilian education that deal with the theme. It was concluded that the conceptual and historical bases of integral education need to be revisited, problematized and reflected, to not exist distortions in public policies implemented or in the implementation phase.

Keywords : Integral Education; Scientific Education; History of Education.
