BURGOS, Carlos Crespo e CAMPOS, Magaly Robalino. Ecuador: educational scenarios and teachers' work in times of post-pandemic and neoliberalism. Rev. Educ. Polít. Debate [online]. 2023, vol.12, n.2, pp.641-660. Epub 18-Maio-2023. ISSN 2238-8346. https://doi.org/10.14393/repodv12n2a2023-69404.
This article offers a critical look at the socioeconomic, educational and teaching work situation during the last few years in Ecuador, in the context of the global crisis of the COVID 19 pandemic and its effects in the current stage of the so-called post-pandemic. It updates the analysis of the situation at the end of the two years of the pandemic, at a time when the "reactivation" of the educational offer has begun with the return to face-to-face teaching. The article uses the results of several studies and research on the situation of education and teaching work in Ecuador in times of pandemic, carried out and published between 2020 and 2021 and several presentations made by the authors in national and international events. Starting from a look at trends in the context of the global crisis, the last five years in Ecuador are characterized as a phase of economic and social precariousness in the transition to a neoliberal and authoritarian state. Secondly, some aspects of the problem of educational policy are addressed. Thirdly, it shows the perceptions of children and teachers about their educational practices with the return to face-to-face education. Finally, the article concludes with some reflections and recommendations for educational policy.
