This paper aims to understand the formation of the Bachilleratos Populares in Argentina and their contributions to the construction of the popular public school in Latin America and the Caribbean. A case study was carried out with fieldwork, bibliographic and documentary research, and semi-structured interviews. The constitution of the Popular Public School is possible with political, pedagogical and philosophical autonomy, which is materialized in the curricula, contents, didactics, evaluations, teacher training and claims to the State and civil society.
