This text seeks, using the Law nº 13415/2017 and the Resolution CNE/CP nº 1, of January 5th, 2021, to investigate how the work category is presented in the current educational public policies of Middle-Level Technical Professional Education, understanding its implications for the training of the working world. The methodology used was the content analysis of the following categories: work, work as an educational principle and integral training. Documentary and bibliographic research were also used. Through the analysis, it was noticed that the training for the working world, occurs in a light and shallow way, with the objective of forming a multipurpose worker, flexible and in a state of employability.
