Brazil is currently experiencing a political and educational crisis, in which both relate directly and worryingly. In this sense, this research aims to analyze the socio-legal relations between an education focused on legal and political aspects of life in society; a citizenship that escapes the simple right to vote and reach the sphere of active citizenship, in which the individual is a central part of the community movement; and the guarantee of human rights and a consequent dignified life for each individual. It will be used qualitative research and explanatory. Consequently, the following work aims to contribute to a reflection on the role of education in the construction of a participatory citizen, which is a necessary part in the implementation of a democracy.
