The marking of racial difference is transformed in educational inequality. Thus, access and permanence in education is segmented by color/race and intensified us most advanced levels of schooling. The objective of this article is to make a theoretical discussion, privileging the academic-political production of decoloniality, on the need to analyses the policy of affirmative action in the stricto sensu graduate programs offered at the Federal Institutes (IFs) and the actions for the permanence of the students. Studies have privileged public universities, on the other hand, among the 4,602 accredited programs in Brazil, 150 are offered by the Federal Network of Professional Education, of which 53% are in IFs. This discussion strengthens the inclusion of ethnic-racial groups in higher education.
