The article “School readings of the 20th century: feminine representation” analyses the third volume of the work Child hearts, by professor Maria Rita Barreto. The objective consists in observing reading practices in Brazilian public institutions of the 20th century, verifying how the reading, destinated to first grades of the Elementary School, characterized the feminine sex.
