Abstract We know that long time ago the literature aimed at children and young people is taking place in academic research, and the image in children and youth literature, known for illustration, also has your value guaranteed. Especially in recent decades, the picture books take spaces on the shelves of bookstores and libraries, giving readers access to all kinds of art. This article intends to develop a history of children’s literature and illustrations, listing relevant data and information from the emergence of this literature to the contemporary.
