This work proposes a critical analysis of artistic practices in Basic Education. Anchored in the conception of human development of L. S. Vigotski and in the conception of language of M. Bakhtin, it discusses some questions that become relevant when art is taken effectively as a language form. Among the mentioned points we underline the discussions on the importance of social interactions and the questions of meaning in the work with art. From this analysis, it is possible to think about more inclusive ways for art in this educative context, in which the artistic languages are approached in total complicity with the most fundamental questions of the educational process.
