Abstract

SOUSA, Maria do Carmo de. Reflexive writings in mathematics teacher training. LTP [online]. 2013, vol.31, n.61, pp.81-95. ISSN 2317-0972.

Abstract The study of reflective writings allows us to understand the pedagogical discourses that guide the practices of undergraduate students and elementary teachers who teach mathematics, revealing the learning that takes place in their own process of becoming teaching professionals. With the objective of contributing to the debate on the role of reflective writing in teacher education, we will present contexts of teaching and research that promote writing experiences and reveal university students’ and teachers’ learnings, while they are in preparation. The writings indicate that the learnings of student teachers and teachers of basic education are not restricted to theoretical, didactic and methodological features of teaching mathematical concepts. They are related to certain ways of viewing the world, the school and the man being educated in the current scenario
