BUTLEN, Max. Reading: "a polymorphous cultural practice". LTP [online]. 2015, vol.33, n.65, pp.13-34. ISSN 2317-0972.  https://doi.org/10.2014/LTP-v33n65dez0013.

University research and national and international standardized assessments (in particular PISA) have identified, among a significant number of adolescents, difficulties in understanding texts, difficulties in processing information and, above all, in inference and interpretation. They have also pointed to a growing and worrying tendency to rejection of school recommended literary readings, especially in high school. This situation of crisis is not undefeatable. In fact, young people read. Research on education has indicated new directions for teaching strategies for the promotion of efficient reading and suggests a kind of reading that establishes bridges between classical cultural heritage and contemporary creations. The implementation and success of such pedagogical action adopt the understanding of reading as a polymorphous cultural learning that opens to a network of genres and cultural practices.
