The objective of this work is to analyze the student's gestures of reading and interpreting while working on the text and the authorship features of these gestures. In order to do so, we have analyzed the written description of a comic strip read by students during a writing workshop class organized by the school where they study in Pouso Alegre, in the state of Minas Gerais. The theoretical and methodological basis is the French Discourse Analysis. Based on this study, we have concluded that the heterogeneous character of the language is constitutive of the subject: the students show different relationships with the language and the work with relevant, authentic and socially valued written material can help to improve school reading and serve as a tool for authorship when one writes.
