Brazil’s political and economic crisis was a subject frequently mentioned in the news in 2016, especially because of the politicians’ involvements in corruption cases. Based on the news published on May 13, 2016, a date which which reminds us us of the Abolition of Slavery in Brazil (1888), the day after Michel Temer took the interim Presidency of the country, this paper presents a theoretical approach on the guided News by Portal UOL, referring to the theories of agenda-setting and primary definers.
