Abstract

PAIVA, Wilson Alves de. The political formation in Rousseau: an introduction. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2013, n.35, pp.27-42. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/2318-1982-2013-v.35(03).

Despite the praise that Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) weaves the domestic education in the book Emile or Education, his intent is not to form an isolated man, outside the social context, but man in a full sense of the term, prepared to live in any society and even participate in political life. In this, the Social Contract serves as a lesson to Emile as a parameter to judge the existing society and serve as a basis for the student to understand the principles of a just society.

Keywords : Political Education; Emile; Rousseau.
