Abstract

The paper analyzes the More Education Program, as “new strategy” of the federal government to promote comprehensive education, focusing on social functions allocated to sports programs, arts and entertainment held in the shift from school as a form of “occupation” of “free time” children and youth in elementary school. It also examines the spaces and equipment available for such actions, considering the indicators of effectiveness of the proposed educational establishment of territories. It addresses some of the results of research fundeb by CNPq. These results show that, in the speech to promote the integral education, the Brasilian public school has been expanding its responsibilities, decreasing enroolment and increasing the discipline of poverty.
