Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Maria Izete de  and  CARLOS, Rinalda Bezerra. Biographical report: an attempt to understand the teaching practices of teachers of early childhood education. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2013, n.36, pp.161-175. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/2318-1982-2013-v.36(11).

This work comes from two studies that aimed to: investigate the conception of kindergarten teachers about this stage of basic education, and learn how to develop their teaching practices, respectively. We found with few exceptions the inconsistency between the discourse and practice of teachers. Therefore, we feel urged to perform a new research with the objective to understand how life experiences influence the teachers’ pedagogical practice. We used the autobiographical report method in the form of reports of life experiences due to the fact of our study set up a training and research instrument at the same time. We got 12 reports that have been organized into three categories: Initial formation, Continuing Education and Life Experience. The results revealed the need to promote studies on the teacher professionalism, demystification of the practice rather than theory and a deepening in the concept of continuing education.
