SILVA, Adriana Aparecida Alves da  y  SANDANO, Wilson. The differents practices at the “Japanese Language and Bording School” in Pilar do Sul: rituals and festivals. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2013, n.36, pp.221-236. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/2318-1982-2013-v.36(15).

The results presented in this paper are part of a research carried out about schools in Pilar do Sul, SP. In the middle of the 50s, the city only had four schools, including the Japanese language and boarding school. This paper looks at understanding the history of this school, analysing the habits and festivals and the schools routine as part of it´s practices that makes up the schools culture from 1950 to 1970 (from the opening of the school to the closing of the school) We used written, oral and iconographic sources, following Le Goff (1990) guidelines about the expansion of the document concept. The analysis showed, among other things that the rituals and festivities were more than simple school activities, these were prosperous times to share knowledge, values and norms legitimized by the school and by the Japanese community.
