The paper presented here discusses the investigations concerning educational policies related to teacher training for Youth and Adults (EJA) in Brazil. Given this thematic synthesis elected as the question to be answered: how to characterize and problems which confront the policies for adult education in Brazil? Better solution for this issue effected a time frame to be investigated, situated between the late 1990s until the present date . With this issue we describe and analyze educational policies in Brazil, with regard to teacher training in adult education in the context of political changes during the evolution of society and how the policy was constituted to become educational policy. Accordingly, with the development and consolidation of the Law of Guidelines and Bases, 9394/96, the EJA has become recognized as a teaching modality as well, training policies to work in EJA modality received greater attention from the state and the legislation. To achieve the proposed objective, empirical way was the bibliographic and descriptive - analytical. The text with our findings is structured in two sections that complement each other: the first described education as educational policy in Brazil and performed reviews on the participation of International Organizations (OI 's) , their charges and representations, policies, and its determinations on policy outcomes, and analyzed the correlation of forces in the formulation of these policies. In the second section we present arguments about the educational policies of training for adult education and discuss the task of LDB these policies, as well as the right of young people and adults to education and the importance of teaching qualification to work in the EJA mode.
