PIMENTA, Maria Alzira de Almeida  and  PIMENTA, Sonia de Almeida. Cheating on exams: comparative study between the Northeast and Southeast of Brazil. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2015, n.39, pp.213-230. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/2318-1982-2015-v.39(13).

This is a comparative study that deals with the cheating in assessments, commonly known in Brazil as cola, fila or pesca and its effects. The cola is understood as a strategy used by the student to simulate the domain knowledge in the evaluations. In a study with students from universities in the Southeast and Northeast Brazil a questionnaire was applied to identify the use of cola, in what circumstances and why was practiced. The results showed that this practice has a significant effect, indicating that is becoming increasingly common in universities. Considering these results and the importance of the work done by the universities, it is proposed that define urgently, codes of conduct to mobilize and guide students to reflect on the consequences of their actions and decisions.
