In Latin America and the Caribbean, the distance postgraduate experience is very recent and their establishment has obeyed a new disciplinary scenario that has enabled internationalize and graduate programs are offered increasingly through distance modalities to meet needs and expectations of increasing specialization in training in our society. In this sense, it is assumed, as a legal imperative, that these graduate programs meet the quality criteria set by the agencies of quality assurance in the region; and therefore it is urgent to clarify the framework that supports the evaluation of the quality of this level of training. It has conducted a comparative analysis of the models for quality assurance of distance postgraduates, designed by agencies of evaluation and accreditation of quality in the region. The results show, as main features, the models unity on the approach to quality assurance, with the dual aim of developing the quality commitment and continuous improvement, from the internal evaluation perspective, together with the commitment with transparency and accountability with society, in its external evaluation aspect. It is found that the national bodies for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in the region to evaluate the distance postgraduate apply the same quality models with fundamentals and uniform procedures to ensure the quality standards of classroom programs in
