Abstract

SANTOS, Karine  and  LEMES, Marilene. The educacional work meaning in social field. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2016, vol.21, n.43, pp.45-67. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/2318-1982-2016-v.21-n.43(03).

The contemporary scene for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) has been viewed as a fertile ground for the study of educational practices developed in the social field. These organizations include a group of entities, diverse in their conceptions, work methods and understandings of public policies and law. They are involved in a multiplicity of intentions, so that their practices are inserted in a gray area that seems difficult to be explained even by their developers. With the goal of getting to know the educational dimension of such practices, we have analyzed interviews and testimonials of meetings with social workers, aiming to answer the following question: what kind of collective orientation and world view emerge from the practices of professionals who take part in NGOs? The reflections achieved on this study lead us to infer that such practices are permeated with intentions, at times emancipatory, at times conforming.

Keywords : Social field; educational practices; NGOs.
