This is a research unfolding development in the Postgraduate Diploma in Catholic University of Education Program Dom Bosco (PPGE/UCDB) which aims to verify the production of identities/differences of women/teachers/indigenous ethnic Arara-Karo located in the city of Ji-Paraná, Rondônia, Brazil. This paper presents a brief historical background on the establishment of the Arara-Karo people, and its relation to the process of colonization of the Brazilian Amazon. Reflections are seeking to approach the issues colonization of the Amazon region. Thus the text of the main argument refers to the idea that the displacement and reinterpretation in the organization modes are social or cultural context of indigenous peoples, specifically the Arara-Karo was intensified with the process of colonization. The production data of this research is constituted from literature reviews about the Amazon colonization process, considering the colonization in the recent constitution of the Arara-Karo people, as well as narrative interview with a Arara-Karo teacher.
