This article, that derives from a study of a wider thematic range, which has a qualitative and exploratory character, aims to provide some critical subsidies to the adequacy and formulations that the new State Plan For Education (PNE) - Law nr. 13.005 from June 25th 2014 implicates for the State Plans For Education (PEEs) notably in terms of its thematic structuring taking as a basis its empiric analysis on the set of plans approved during the period of validity of the PNE 2001-2010. As a conclusion, it postulates that some of the deficiencies of this national plan also happened in the PEEs examined, adding themselves to other feebleness produced by these same infractional plans, putting into question its feasibility and effectiveness for the local management of education.
