The support to the families of individuals who brings out by their potentials is pointed out on the specialized literature, as well as, it is in the Brazilian laws. The present paper aims to present the survey of academic productions about high abilities/giftedness and family. For that, it was realized the search of publications in five database: Scielo, P@rthenon Unesp, Banco de teses Capes, Biblioteca Digital Teses e Dissertações e Vérsila Biblioteca Digital in the period of 2005 to 2015. The results showed six productions which treats of different dimensions of the theme as concepts, identification, services and programs of enrichment, Brazilian laws, researches with families and teachers, school environment, and families preoccupation about their gifted children development. The analysis of productions permitted to conclude that there is interest of the family in actions in favor of information and experiences changes aiming to get education of quality for their gifted children. It was verified also the scarce of researches about the theme at the database searched.
