Abstract

BORGATO, Joaquim Sérgio  and  PANIAGO, Maria Cristina Lima. The teaching videos in the context of online education in the cyberculture era: challenges and possibilities. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2018, vol.23, n.47, pp.201-221. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/serie-estudos.v23i47.1115.

This paper aims to discuss the challenges and possibilities of didactic videos in the context of online education. It is a part of a doctoral research in Education and brings a theoretical discussion about Online education, teacher training, didactic videos and their languages and potentialities. The results of the research indicate that the teachers understand the didactic video as one of the teaching materials that most identifies with the Online education, but they feel unprepared and frustrated with the result of their videos seeking to overcome their own limitations in continuing education courses. We understand that video education in the context of Online Education imposes certain challenges on teachers and students in their production and appropriation. There are indications, through research, of the need for teacher training both for the development and for the use of didactic videos, incorporating the concept of interactivity. Online education in the era of cyberculture advances in questions in the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC) that go beyond the techniques and technologies considering the human being as an agent capable of critically reflecting its role of society.

Keywords : didactic video; online education; teacher training.
