It aims to discuss the school as a pedagogical device in contemporary capitalism. It discuss how, in contemporary society, bodies are crossed by huge processes of desubjectivation, which objective to reproduce the machinery of governance of the people, of the populations, of the institutions - among these, public schools disconnected from political life, acting as collective equipment through relations governed by automatism, without resistance to instituted. Debate as Rousseau and Kant, by different paths, supported the two great strands of modern pedagogical thinking and its reflexes in the configuration of today public school. It defends the possibility of the public school acting as a war machine, moving our thinking and our actions to other ways of being school and collective. It presents as a possibility the Brazilian case of the public school as a war machine: Paulo Freire’s public school.
