BRUNS, Juliana Pedroso  y  NUNES, Camila da Cunha. Implications of implementation of the More Literacy Program: reflections from school management. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.56, pp.243-262.  Epub 22-Jul-2021. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/serie-estudos.v26i56.1416.

The More Literacy Program, proposed by the Ministry of Education, aims to strengthen and support technically and financially school units in the literacy process of students enrolled in the first two years of elementary school. In this perspective, this research aims to analyze the perception of managers of municipal schools in a city in the Vale do Itajaí (SC) about the implementation of the More Literacy Program (PMALFA). To this end, qualitative research of a descriptive character was carried out. Ten managers who work in elementary education in ten municipal schools were interviewed. For the managers, it seems quite evident that there are several challenges faced in the program development. Among them, those of an economic, technical, and administrative nature stand out, including teacher training, application of tests with students in the initial literacy process, and the continuity of public policies, which often go through changes in our country. However, despite the challenges, it is notorious and it is hoped that the program will be extended and implemented for longer than the previously existing programs. More than ever, it is time to (re)think and (re)organize public policies in Brazil, especially those aimed at the literacy process.

Palabras clave : More Literacy Program; public policy; evaluation.
