This research aimed to present an overview of the productions on the classroom theme in Didactics from the abstracts, as well as to identify the themes addressed through the thematic axes based on the theory of Didactic Fields in Longarezi and Puentes (2015; 2017). The research was developed through a qualitative approach and was characterized as knowledgeable. The research collected data from the perspective of document analysis (CELLARD, 2005) and analysis and interpretation of data through Bardin’s (2011) content analysis. This work was guided by research in the field of Didactics concerning the classroom theme. To this end, sixty-six abstracts of scientific articles belonging to the scientific field of Didactics, published in the period 2008 to 2018, were analyzed. The analysis indicated that the classroom can be understood as a place of research when considered as an object and space of research, and when considered as a context (environment) in which the research action can be developed. Among the abstracts analyzed that presented the classroom theme using the homonymous term, forty-eight (or 73%) were classified in the classroom category as a research space, distributed among the Investigative, Professional, and Disciplinary axes, with emphasis on the Investigative axis. In the classroom category as research place, twelve (19%) abstracts were classified, distributed between the Investigative and Professional axes.
