SANTINO, Fernando Schlindwein  and  TEIXEIRA, Leny Rodrigues Martins. The production of knowledge on the training of indigenous teachers and the intercultural licentiate degree: theses and dissertations from 2009 to 2019. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2022, vol.27, n.59, pp.301-324.  Epub May 30, 2022. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/serie-estudos.v27i59.1517.

The formation of Indigenous Teachers (IT) in Brazil, since the 1980s, has been a fertile and rich field of research due to the struggle of various sectors of society for the rights of indigenous peoples. In this study, we developed quanti-qualitative research of the state of knowledge type in the IT formation field, motivated by the following question: what was produced in the last ten years on the theme. The survey was carried out based on the descriptors (in Portuguese) “formação de professores indígenas” and “licenciatura intercultural” on the CAPES and BDTD between the years 2009 to 2019. The results of the study show multiple themes related to: traditional knowledge and school knowledge; Mathematics; interculturality; history of indigenous peoples; implementation of an intercultural course; testimony from coordinators, teachers, undergraduates, and alumni on the production methods and hierarchy of the so-called scientific knowledge on traditional indigenous knowledge; public policies on the formation of IT; intercultural curriculum focused on reality; relationship between theory and practice and study workshops.

Keywords : state of knowledge; training of indigenous teachers; intercultural courses.
