Abstract

AMARAL, Mirian; SANTOS, Edméa  and  SANTOS, Rosemary dos. Multi-referential curriculum in cyber-research-training: a conversation with the “Avatar” movie. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2022, vol.27, n.60, pp.173-195.  Epub Aug 30, 2022. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/serie-estudos.v27i60.1646.

In this article, a by-product of a research carried out in a class of an undergraduate education course, developed at a public university in the State of Rio de Janeiro, the authors, in a movement to bring education and arts closer, establish the interface between the curriculum and communicative practices mediated by cinema, based on the movie “Avatar”. In this perspective, within the scope of a cyber-research-training, they aim to show how the online diary can be used as an catalyst and enhancer of curriculum acts, that consider the heterogeneous in the fabric of knowledge. Supported by the paradigm of complexity, by the principles of multi-referentiality and by the research approach to everyday life, they seek to transcend the simple use of cinema as artistic creation and illustration of reality, to encompass cultural, historical, literary, pedagogical and political aspects that are inherent to it.

Keywords : cinema; multi-referential curricula; online diaries.
