The work, resulting from a theoretical examination, presents an overview of Brazilian academic productions – theses, dissertations, and journal articles – that address concepts of theory and practice from the perspective of beginning pedagogue teachers. A State of the Question bibliographic survey was carried out from May to November 2019 to examine the attention demanded to the theme conceptions of theory and practice from the perspective of beginning teachers, having as descriptors “theory and practice”, “teachers’ conceptions”, “beginning teachers”, and “Pedagogy”. Sixteen productions were located, two theses, eleven dissertations, and three journal articles, considering the period from 2013 to 2019. The analysis, with a qualitative approach, showed that the interest in discussions on the theory and practice binomial from the conceptions of teachers beginners is emerging and scarce in academic production. Finally, the findings of this research reinforce the need for in-depth investigations on the subject in the national context.
