Abstract

CARVALHO, Rosângela Tenório de. The feminine soul in catholic holy cards. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2022, vol.27, n.61, pp.205-226.  Epub Feb 16, 2023. ISSN 2318-1982.  https://doi.org/10.20435/serieestudos.v27i61.1728.

The article discusses the holy cards as an element of reiteration of behaviors in the attribution of a feminine soul. The analysis uses analytical theoretical elements from gender and performativity studies, from archeogenealogical studies, from cultural studies and from studies on image and communication. A corpus of analysis made up of holy cards of Catholic iconography is approached to which statements from other cultural materials are interpolated to give visibility to the interdiscursive network of statements and to performative aspects that mark the position of a subject with a feminine soul.

Keywords : female soul; image; genre; catholic holy cards.
