Our objective is to analyze the discourse of family-affection among individuals from homoparental families as part of the broader production of the family dispositif. To achieve this, we draw on Foucauldian studies, utilizing the concepts of discourse and dispositif as both theoretical and analytical tools. In conducting our research, we conducted interviews with members of homoparental families. The data revealed a distinctive way these individuals articulate the concept of family, corresponding to the formation of a family-affection discourse. We critically examine how affection is employed as a rationale to legitimize, justify, and authorize homoerotic relationships by sanitizing them, thus promoting the acceptance of homosexuality without challenging the heteronormative standards tied to these notions. We explore how the concept of family, understood as various configurations united by affection, respect, and mutual responsibility, contributes to the production of subjectivities. We emphasize the current prominence of the family-affection discourse as a means of affirming these individuals and their interpretations of what constitutes family.
