Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, LAURA ROBERTA. STATE / CORPORATE FOUNDATIONS PARTNERSHIPS IN EDUCATION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURY IN ARGENTINA: FROM PHILANTROPY TO POLICY INFLUENCE. Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação [online]. 2019, vol.35, n.1, pp.15-33.  Epub Dec 06, 2019. ISSN 2447-4193.  https://doi.org/10.21573/vol1n12019.89877.

This paper advances some findings of ongoing research focused on public-private partnerships in education in Argentina, the changes in public-private boundaries in educational policies, and the consequences for public education democratization in recent decades. Using a qualitative approach, by means of extensive searches on Internet and analysis of documentary sources, we describe activities, discourses, projects and partnerships with different state levels, of two domestic corporate foundations: Arcor and Bunge & Born. We relate those changes to other major changes in three areas: state capacities, processes of educational hybridization, and ongoing general transformations of capitalism, particularly the ways in which the conflict between capital and labor is solved.

Keywords : Public-Private Partnerships; Education; Corporate Foundations; Educational Policy.
