Abstract

C., VÍCTOR ORELLANA; C., MANUEL CANALES; C., CRISTIÁN BELLEI  and  M., FABIÁN GUAJARDO. INDIVIDUATION AND EDUCATIONAL MARKET IN CHILE. Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação [online]. 2019, vol.35, n.1, pp.141-157.  Epub Dec 06, 2019. ISSN 2447-4193.  https://doi.org/10.21573/vol1n12019.89879.

This article systematizes the findings of different researches on Chilean education to understand educational markets. Beyond the reported deficits of equity and quality, we discuss the effect on the individualization process. Practices previously located in the world of life or in politics are now commercially colonized, articulating the experience of life as an individual continuum of market choice and alienated performance. The educational market is experienced as a constriction of freedom, which adds to the inequality and low documented average quality.

Keywords : individuation; market; Chilean education; educational privatization.
