This text aims at understanding the rapid growth of the projects of the militarization of public schools in the state of Bahia. It resorts to concepts taken from Michel Foucault’s works as well as from other contemporary authors that theorize the relations of power in today's society. It argues that the participation of the police in the school's daily activities creates a new type of control that is built around the management of life is applied by the development of disciplinary techniques and safety devices.
