This article aims to analyze perceptions about the repercussions of the Accessible School Program in a state school in Pernambuco/Brazil. In the light of Content Analysis, we make considerations based on records of on-site observations and semi-structured interviews conducted with education professionals and students on the guarantee of architectural, communicational, and didactic-pedagogical accessibility to people with disabilities in the school environment. Our conclusions highlight measures that enhance the exercise of student autonomy as a cornerstone of accessible schools.

Keywords : School inclusion policy; Disabled people; Accessibility.
