This article aims to analyze the actions of Paraná Court of Auditors (TCE-PR) on monitoring “Goal 1” of the National Education Plan (PNE) 2014-2024, related to Early Childhood Education enrolment in Brazil. To this end, were analyzed the General and Specific Reports of the audits carried out in 2015, 2016, and 2017, as well as the reports of an interview with the TCE-PR auditor who participated in the inspection process. The research results indicate that such inspection is characterized as a recent performance, which goes beyond the concern with budget execution and auditing, expanding the TC’s field of concerns, and meeting the implementation of educational policy.
