The text analyzes, the education funding policy in the Brazilian state of Rondônia in a federative context from 2007 to 2019. The research included the education legislation, the budget execution summary reports, press documents, and documents written by the teaching union movement. The education funding policy in the state was developed in two cycles in the period as it was subordinated to economic policy. The first cycle was marked by the expansion of the right to education. The second cycle was moved by fiscal austerity, by breaking the immediately previous cycle.
