Abstract

SILVA, ANDERSON PAULINO DA  and  ROSISTOLATO, RODRIGO. Participation in ENEM: inequalities in the context of public schools in Rio de Janeiro. Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação [online]. 2021, vol.37, n.3, pp.1506-1532.  Epub Mar 15, 2022. ISSN 2447-4193.  https://doi.org/10.21573/vol37n32021.111559.

The article analyzes the participation of high school graduates in Rio de Janeiro’s state schools in ENEM between 2012 and 2016. It considers the impacts of the Cotas Law on students’ expectations. Participation comprises the pathway from enrollment to qualification for access to the university. It proposes an indicator of the average enrollment rate per school and linear and logistic regression models to compare schools. We point to changes in student participation and changes in horizontal stratification in state schools.

Keywords : participation in ENEM; quota policy; school stratification.
