Abstract

GALVAO, WILLANA NOGUEIRA MEDEIROS et al. Social and educational vulnerabilities associated with the territory effect in Ceará schools. Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação [online]. 2022, vol.38, n.1, e121446.  Epub Oct 02, 2023. ISSN 2447-4193.  https://doi.org/10.21573/vol38n002022.121446.

The article investigates the impact of the territory effect on the educational offers of four schools located in the center and periphery of the municipalities of Caucaia and Maracanaú. The methodology adopted is quanti-qualitative in nature, using semi-structured interviews, field observation, literature review and data study from Inep and IBGE and literature review based on studies by Marcuse (2004); Ribeiro and Koslinsky (2009); Ben Ayed (2012); Érnica and Batista (2012); Ribeiro and Vóvio (2017). The analyses point out that aspects inherent to the territory, such as location (center x periphery), social vulnerabilities, and ghettoization can interfere in the offer and results of educational policies.

Keywords : Territorial effect; Social vulnerabilities; Educational services.
