Abstract

The article addresses the construction of the identity of Federal Institutes - IFs based on the assumption that, despite being an institutional model designed to be innovative, they still maintain conservative conceptions supported by structural duality, revealing historical contradictions in educational policies. The present text uses the fundamentals of dialectical historical materialism and concludes by indicating the presence of conservative traits, but also significant advances in the construction of a professional and technological education identity.
