Abstract

FERNANDES, MARIA JOSÉ DA SILVA. The work of the coordinating teacher in the São Paulo State educational network: the redefinition of the function in a scenario of educational reforms (1995-2018). Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação [online]. 2022, vol.38, n.1, e112026.  Epub Mar 27, 2022. ISSN 2447-4193.  https://doi.org/10.21573/vol38n002022.112026.

The article is dedicated to the analysis of the function of Coordinating Teacher in the São Paulo state with an emphasis on their legal attributions. The results showed derived from a longitudinal documental analysis of resolutions published between 1995 to 2018, and quantitative data requested from the Department of Education. The period is characterized by New Public Management, a political-ideological milestone that still exists in the state, and its management-based measures that linked the coordination function to the monitoring and control of teaching work, distancing the function from nature and pedagogical specificity.

Keywords : Coordinating teacher; Pedagogical coordinating; São Paulo state educational network.
