Abstract

ANDRIGUETTO JUNIOR, HAROLDO  and  GISI, MARIA LOURDES. Management and performativity: influences on the practice of educational management. Revista Brasileira de Política e Administração da Educação [online]. 2022, vol.38, n.1, e117220.  Epub Mar 27, 2022. ISSN 2447-4193.  https://doi.org/10.21573/vol38n002022.117220.

The article analyzes the influence of performative and managerial logic in the management practices of basic education schools in Curitiba (PR). A qualitative approach is used based on reports from educational managers, submitted to the content analysis technique. Based on studies by Pierre Bourdieu and Stephan Ball, the data revealed a strong influence of managerialism and performativity in educational institutions. It is argued that such theories, with more rationalizing principles, are insufficient when transposed to schools, which are complex institutions par excellence.

Keywords : educational management; managerialism; performativity.
