This work analyzed academic productions from the educational area on the access and permanence of LGBTQIA+ students in higher education. We used the systematic survey of articles in the Lilacs and SciELO databases. Only two out of nine papers found had LGBTQIA+ students as protagonists. The results point out to investigative possibilities, since the topic seems to be configured as a “new issue” for the educational area. Results also signal fruitful discussions that could contribute to broadening debates on quotas.
