The aim of this article is to present an analysis of the descriptors present in the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), specifically in terms of orality, relating them to the principles of Bilingual Education for the Deaf. Through descriptive documentary research, it was sought to point out necessary changes for the implementation of a bilingual curriculum, which we highlight: a methodological approach befitting the teaching of Portuguese as a second language for the deaf; the intercultural valorization encompassing deaf communities and their struggles; and the guarantee of LIBRAS as the language of instruction.
