This study aims to analyze the profile of students with disabilities enrolled in special education (SE), with participation in the editions of Saeb (Brazilian Assessment in Basic Education) in the years 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017. The students are enrolled in the 5th and 9th grades of public schools, and their profiles are compared to data from the School Census for the same grades and years evaluated. The analysis focuses on individual and school characteristics of the participants. The results suggest a significant increase of the participation in the historical series, with predominance of male students and great heterogeneity within this population.
