The text discusses the coverage and attendance of early childhood education considering the prospects for the New Fundeb. It uses the method of historical-dialectical materialism and the corpus of the research is data from PNAD and the School Census, partly systematized by the Laboratory of Educational Data/UFPR. The results point to advances in coverage and service indicators and EC funding policies, with the achievements of Novo Fundeb. But they also revealed contradictions and persistent challenges to guaranteeing the right to education for children, especially black, indigenous, and poor children.
