This article investigates the importance of School Financial Education (SFE) in shaping individuals who are conscious and capable of making responsible financial decisions, through Project-Based Learning (PBL). Utilizing a qualitative approach, we analyze a project developed by students and mathematics teachers of the Pedagogical Residency Program, which applied mathematical concepts in practical financial contexts. The study highlights how PBL can integrate academic knowledge into everyday situations, fostering Financial Literacy and decision-making skills in students. The results suggest that SFE, supported by active methodologies, should be more incorporated into the school curriculum, due to its potential to prepare young people for responsible financial decisions.
